White charcoal tablets are an enterosorbent whose active ingredient is silicon dioxide, as is the case with Enterosgel.

Silicon dioxide has a large active surface area and the non-porous structure of the silicon dioxide particles ensures a high sorption rate. The absence of pores is an advantage as it means that compounds with a low molecular weight, such as minerals and vitamins, are not absorbed.

Silicon dioxide has a significant adsorption activity towards substances of a protein nature. It promotes the elimination of exo- and endotoxins, toxic compounds, pathogenic antigens and allergens from the body (blood, lymph, interstitium).

Microcrystalline cellulose is a component of white carbon and complements the adsorption properties of silicon dioxide by binding heavy metals. The swollen fibers of microcrystalline cellulose, which move along the intestine, mechanically clean the surface of the mucous membrane.

Silicon dioxide exhibits chemical and microbiological stability: It does not decompose in organic solvents and biological fluids, including gastric juice, and the structure of its particles does not change with a change in pH. Silicon dioxide does not accumulate in the body.

Over 99 % of silicon dioxide is excreted in unchanged form via the gastrointestinal tract together with the feces.

When taken orally, less than 1 % of silicon dioxide enters the body's circulation and is excreted via the kidneys in the urine.

Application

Take between meals with plenty of water:

•  3-5 tablets 3-4 times a day;

In severe cases, a single dose can be increased to 10-14 tablets if necessary.

Notes

Do not take in case of hypersensitivity to the active ingredient and auxiliary components, gastric and duodenal ulcers, ulcers and erosion of the intestinal mucosa, gastric and intestinal bleeding, intestinal obstruction.

Please ensure that you always take white charcoal with plenty of liquid, otherwise constipation or intestinal obstruction may occur. Occasional constipation is possible if the recommended dosage is exceeded.

The drug white charcoal should be taken 1 hour before taking other oral medications in combination therapy to prevent a decrease in efficacy. Contains sorbitol and should therefore not be used in patients with rare hereditary diseases such as fructose intolerance syndrome. Enterosgel must not be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

The simultaneous use of white charcoal and acetylsalicylic acid can increase the processes of platelet breakdown.

In complex therapy with nicotinic acid and simvastatin, white charcoal has a synergistic effect: it helps to reduce the level of atherogenic fractions of the lipid spectrum of the blood and increase the HDL cholesterol level.

Ingredients

1 tablet contains anhydrous colloidal silicon dioxide 210 mg (based on 100 % dry matter) Excipients: potato starch, microcrystalline cellulose, sorbitol (E 420), croscarmellose sodium, magnesium stearate.
